Hatcher Dental Group offers a range of general and cosmetic dental services to patients of all ages. Dr. Hatcher has the expertise and knowledge needed to provide every patient with the care they deserve. With a warm and welcoming environment, patients feel comfortable and can ask any questions they may have about their dental treatment.

Services we offer include, but are not limited to:

Routine Dental Cleaning

It is suggested that patients should be seen for a dental cleaning and routine exam every 6 months or as recommended by your dentist. During the cleaning, plaque and calculus will be removed from your teeth leaving behind a bright and polished smile. X-rays may need to be taken to help detect possible cavities in between teeth that cannot be seen by the naked eye.

Periodontal Services

Though your mouth may feel healthy and you may not have any symptoms, periodontal disease can progress without a patient knowing. If left untreated, periodontal disease can destroy the supporting bones in your mouth. This is why early treatment and prevention is so important! Your dentist will make sure you are receiving the highest quality of care that will assist in preventing periodontal disease from developing.

Digital X-rays

Dental x-rays are a great preventive, diagnostic tool that provides important information not visible during a regular dental exam. Our dental team will utilize this important information to safely and accurately detect any dental abnormalities and then create an accurate treatment plan.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a great agent used to help prevent tooth decay. It is naturally present in different amounts in almost all foods and water supplies. Benefits of using fluoride have been well known for over 50 years and are supported by many health and professional organizations.

Sealants

Sealants are a very efficient and successful method for preventing decay on the biting surfaces of teeth. They are primarily placed on the permanent molars as they erupt in a child’s mouth. The sealants are maintained through out childhood and can last well into adulthood. Sealants are made of a flowable resin that is applied to the deep pits and fissures of teeth protecting them from harmful acids and plaque build up commonly found in the mouth. The application of sealants is a simple procedure requiring a short appointment and are proven to be effective in preventing decay in children.

Composite Filling

When a tooth is affected by decay, fractures, or cracks, a dental filling is needed to restore the tooth. In a single dental appointment, the decayed or injured tooth will be removed, cleaned, and filled. Composite fillings can be matched to the color of your existing tooth. Since the color is the same as your original tooth, the filling will look aesthetically pleasing and restore your teeth to a healthy, beautiful smile.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns are necessary when a tooth is severely damaged or has suffered from advanced decay and cannot be fixed with bonded filling material. Crowns cover the remaining tooth and restore its function, strength, and esthetics. Several crown material options are available including non-metal crowns. Your dentist will discuss these on an individual basis depending on the area of the mouth that needs to be restored.

Bridges can be utilized when tooth loss occurs due to gum disease, decay, or injury. The loss of the tooth can create greater problems for your dental health if it is not corrected. The teeth next to the missing tooth (or teeth) can begin to move and result in pain, discomfort, and can look unsightly. With bridges, Dr. Hatcher will close any gaps in your mouth. The bridge looks and acts just like natural teeth, is permanently cemented, and helps to maintain the position of the rest of your teeth.

Endodontic Therapy (Root Canals)

Root canal therapy is needed when a cavity has reached the pulp of a tooth causing an infection of the nerve, or when severe trauma has affected the tooth. Regular checkups with your dentist helps to avoid and prevent the need for endodontic therapy. But once the pulp has become infected, it must be treated to avoid further issues since it cannot heal by itself. Some signs that a pulp is infected include sensitivity to hot or cold foods or liquids, pain, swelling, or even a bad taste in the mouth. For some patients no symptoms are obvious and they are unaware a problem even exists until they are seen by their dentist for an exam.

When endodontic therapy is performed, your dentist will clean out the infected pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. Once the area has been disinfected, the canals of the tooth are filled with a special material to prevent from further infections, and help in the healing of the tooth. Sometimes a core build-up, bonded post, and crown are necessary for restoring a tooth to function.

Laser Dentistry

At Hatcher Dental Group, many of our available procedures and treatments can be made more comfortable, convenient, and effective through laser dentistry. Our dental team uses a soft tissue laser to help in the treatment of periodontal disease. This allows us to achieve optimal results with a non-invasive, non-surgical method.

Laser dentistry also allows for precise gum re-contouring to help balance uneven gums and remove excess gum tissue and reduce the look of an overly gummy smile. Our dental team can also use the laser to decrease the length and severity of cold sores and canker sores. When it comes to laser dentistry, there is little or no need for anesthesia or sutures, and discomfort is minimized. Call us today for more information!

CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic)

Traditionally, if crowns, onlays, inlays, or dental veneers were required to restore damaged teeth, multiple procedures and a great deal of waiting time in-between was expected. CEREC® creates quality ceramic restorations within minutes right at our dental office! This means that many treatments can be completed in just a single visit. CEREC® is comprised of several computer-assisted design (CAD) tools and a milling machine that creates custom ceramic restorative devices. This is of great benefit to nervous patients, and also reduces the cost of treatment.

LUMINEERS®

If you're self-conscious about your smile, LUMINEERS can completely transform your smile in just two simple visits. LUMINEERS are contact-thin veneers made out of porcelain that are fitted to the patient's teeth without the need of grinding, shaving, or drilling. They are an easy solution for chipped, misaligned, or discolored teeth. Unlike traditional veneers, with LUMINEERS, there are no shots, no drilling of sensitive tooth structure, and no pain.

Invisalign®

Invisalign® is an orthodontic system that straightens teeth without the use of traditional braces. A series of clear plastic aligners are utilized to create tooth movement. Moving teeth with removable aligners provides a comfortable invisible way to have teeth aligned and your smile restored.

Invisalign® is recommended for most orthodontic situations with mild to moderate spacing or crowding. The aligners are virtually undetectable, easy to use, and comfortable to wear.
